My name is Joshua Junior Kingal, and this is my brief autobiography. Firstly, I am from the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. I was born on the 21st of August 2002 in Lae City, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Interestingly, as a child, I wanted to be an inventor (and still do), so Iron Man in the Avengers inspired me as I was growing up. Furthermore, I read stories of the Wright Brothers, John Pemberton, Isaac Newton, and Thomas Edison, all inventors in their own right. And so, their stories have fueled my desire to be an inventor one day. Apart from that, I struggled with peer pressure during my teenage years, especially getting into romantic relationships. I look back at those days, and I can laugh my head off. What was I thinking back then? Anyways, all of that is in the past.
In my short life, the saddest moment would be the day my dad died in a car accident. And the most beautiful moment in my life was discovering why I was born into this world.
I believe these two moments happened simultaneously without me realizing it. Let me explain. When my dad died, I was only eight years. My parents, three siblings, aunty, uncle and I were on our way back to Lae City from a Gospel Crusade in Madang Province.
Suddenly, something happened to the vehicle we were in, and it crashed into the side of the road. My dad, who was driving, died then, and the rest of us were severely injured.
After that accident and the tragic loss of my father, we were all going through the healing process. Although I was only eight, the burden of who will rise to take my father’s place was upon my three siblings and I.
That is because my dad was a great man who did an incredible thing in Papua New Guinea. He was a graduate (in accounting) from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology in Lae, but he never got to work as an accountant or own his private accounting firm.
He traded all these opportunities to do Ministry.
He would host Gospel Crusades and invite other Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, Teachers and Evangelists to teach and preach the Word of God (the Bible) with him during those crusades. After the teaching and preaching, people who were born with certain conditions in the body or had any sickness in the body would go up to the front for the Speaker to pray for them.
Many of them were healed instanly. God has been using my dad to do this across the country of Papua New Guinea and some parts of the world where he was invited to preach the Word of God. And that was a huge role to play after my dad died. So, the responsibility of who will be the next person to carry our father’s legacy was upon my mother, myself and my three siblings.
The sudden death of my father led me to seek answers and discover what life is and my purpose in life. With much reading, reasoning, and thinking, I begin grasping who I am and my purpose. I started reading the Bible for myself and discovered a lot that has given me the courage to be bold in who I am and what I am.
In addition, I now live, teach, and preach the discoveries I found in the Bible and other spiritual development books.
Despite what has happened, I am most happy to say I am now studying for a Bachelor of Information Technology at Southern Cross University. When I complete this, I will be one step closer to my dream of becoming an Inventor and continuing my late father's work.
